How Can I Switch My Tracking Domain to HTTPS?
In order to switch your pixels and links to https, we will need to install SSL for you.
Please submit a support ticket with the request and include the below information:
Organization Unit (optional):
Once you provide this, we will generate a Certificate Signing Request for you so you can purchase the SSL certificate for the install.
There's no charge from ThriveTracker for SSL. You'll just need to buy the actual SSL certificate itself, which can be done through your domain registrar. Namecheap.com's Positive SSL option, which is $9/year, will also work perfectly with our system.
Once we have the above information and have generated your CSR, we will send this over to you so you an purchase the SSL certificate.
If your certificate provider needs to know what type of server it is, all our servers use Nginx.
For the domain control verification step of the certificate purchase, choose the email method if you have an email service set up for one of the email addresses listed. Otherwise, choose the DNS method and send me the CNAME info you are given.
Once you purchase the certificate from your provider and they complete the process, they will send you the certificate and possibly a CA bundle or intermediate certificate(s). We will need all of these files to be able to setup SSL correctly on the server. Once you send those over, we will finalize the set up and will send you a confirmation once the installation is complete.
You can then manually update any pixels/links to HTTPS. Any HTTP links and pixels will continue to work. Please note that if you have any landing pages that are HTTPS, you'll need to make sure that any Thrive URLs on those pages (landing page pixel or your out.php link) will also need to be HTTPS.
SSL Best Practices
ThriveTracker does not own the SSL certificates for domains. We therefore do not receive any communication from your registrar regarding the status of your SSL certificate. We recommend setting up an alert with your registrar so that you are able to renew the certificate without it first expiring.
Please don’t hesitate to submit a support ticket if you would like to set up SSL.
