If you need to update your historical cost data, you can do so using our Manual Cost Update tool.
Option 1: Update by Selecting Specific Campaign(s)
You can update one campaign at a time, or you can select multiple campaigns if you want to update them all to the same amount. We also give you the ability to select a group of campaigns by tag.
Select the Campaign(s) you wish to update, the date range you want to update the historical cost for, and the new Cost Value (either by CPC or by total cost).
Option 2: Update by Uploading a CSV File
You can also batch update by using our CSV upload tool. We provide you with a template that includes columns for all of the required information we need in order to update the cost.
The required fields in every row include:
- Start & End Date (Please note that this can not include today's date. This is for historical data only. The current day's stats are still being aggregated so you will need to wait until the next day to update)
- Campaign ID or Campaign Name
- CPC or Total Cost
Important: Make sure there are no empty cells in your CSV. If you have an issue uploading, double-check you have the required fields entered and that there are no empty cells.
Option 3: Update by Custom Variable
You can also update the historical cost data by selecting a specific traffic source and it's custom variable. Once you select your traffic source, you have the option to select one, multiple, or all campaigns included under that source. Then select the specific custom variable that you want to update for and the date range. You can also do this by uploading a CSV file using our template.
My New Cost is Very Close in Amount to the Existing. How Should I Update?
If your new CPC or Total cost is very close in number to the existing historical amount, we suggest first zeroing out the costs by uploading a CSV template with all 0's in the cost column. Then, go ahead and update with your new correct amount.
